Default 100% CPU Usage on HP Laptop

Guys,

My Laptop is running at 100% CPU usage constantly at the moment. Not sure why and Id like to limit it. Its running at around the 75 - 80 degree mark which is pretty hot.

Just wondering how I can limit the CPU usage.

Im using Centrino Hardware control to limit the speed, but its still using 100% resources.

Anyone know a way to control this ?

Have you checked task manager to see which process is using all that cpu time? It'd be useful to know is all...

ya i agree with ^^^^ him, go to task manager, then go to processes, then click the cpu, once or twice, until the 100 or whateva percent is up top, and report to us what the image name is.

(im taking a punt and saying SVCHOST)

I used to F@H with a laptop, all the constant heat contributed to an early death for some of the parts inside it.
