Default 120gig only in winXP

Hey i know this is a n00bie question....

I've already installed SP2.... my 160gig drive is still only detected as ~120

It recognises that there is still unpartitioned space... how do i make a big block of 160gig ? (c:\)

Thanks.

EDIT >
I used this solution once before..
--> http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/di...disk_mgmt.html
but i can't see the 'manage' option when i right click on my computer ???

EDIT2 >
Nevermind i'm a spastic :P
it lets me create a new partition.. but doesn't let me combine with the already existing one

Update youre motherboard bios to support 200 and above hdds
You could get an PATA or SATA Addin PCI card that knows about 200 gig and over.
Try the HDD in someone elses pc that has a 200 gig

the A8N8X-E supports large drives out of the box, you can use n-lite also to slipstream sp2 into your installation cd and re-install

You could install Service Pack 2 also, no need for slip streaming as that would require a reinstall....

back up your data and go to run in the start menu and type MMC and go into console and bring up the hard drive in question.

You will see like a 24gig unpartitioned space tagged onto the end of your other partition, then just reformatt so you have one partition of 160gb or make other partitions to your liking.

hope this helps!

The old limitation where the partition that Windows (2k & XP) was installed on could only be 128GB or smaller, is fixed now right? Terrible grammar, sorry.

he can only do this if he's not talking about the OS drive, which i believe he is, if it's not and OS drive he should delete the entire partition in disk management and re-create the partition, it it's an OS dirve he will need to format unless he has something like partition magic on hand

bingo !
power is the winner !
It appears that i can't have 1x160gig on the boot partition.. (unless i completely reformat - and install using a slipstreamed sp2 with winXP)

since i installed winXP without sp1a/sp2 slipstreamed, the max boot partition is 127gigs.. using 'right click --> manage my computer' i have managed (heh) to unlock and reformat the other ~30gigs or so... but i can't clump it together .. doh!
oh well
now i have 127gig c:\ (boot partition) and ~30gig d:\

that'll do i guess ! thanks 4 all ur help guyz !

PS> I used to think after installing SP2... the ~30gigs would be automatically assigned.
