DE-530ct NICs?

Has anyone had any experience with these cards (which are rather old, the latest driver files I've found for it seem to be basically from 1996)? I've been having no success in getting one to work under Win95b or Win98; it can ping itself etc but nothing else on the network (I've tried it on several computers with no success, and successfully networked the computer it's in using other cards with no trouble).

If it's a known-to-be OK model, then I can assume I have a defective unit & chuck it out.
