Default Temps on Load

Comp details:

3200+ (754) @ 2.6GHz (260x10) with 1.65v
DFI NF3 UT
2x256 Corsair BH-5 @ 216MHz (5:6) with 2.9v

When i do normal desktop stuff (msn, firefox, winamp) my temps are fine at around 48.

When i load a game (cs) my temps jump to around 65.

Can someone explain this?

Thanks, Chris

hey man,

Well starting up a game takes a lot of memory and cpu usage, therefore generating a lot of heat, that would be your problem im guessing.

BTW what cooling are you using?

Hope it helped,

FuZeBaLL.

Oh sorry, Zalman 7700Cu

I know it uses memory and cpu, i just wouldnt think the temp can increase by 17? That's what im puzzled about, is 17 a normal increase to have on load?

Thanks, Chris

AFAIK, all A64s Ive seen do this when load is placed on the cpu. It must be a temp sensor bug on them as my old 754 3000+ rose up to 8 degrees within seconds of being placed under load even on watercooling. Annihilator69 has also reported this bug with a winchester 3000+ s939 system as well.

Dont worry about it is all I can say. As long as the pc is stable, and the temps dont go abnormally high, then its ok.

Well, with that cooler you shouldnt even be that high on idle I would of thought. I can see you have a very good OC out of the cpu, and you are putting a lot of volts through it, could you lower the volts without making is unstable?

I have the same cpu ( what week is yours? ) and I cant get shit out of mine, but this is cause I have a gigabte M/B and shit value ram.

But yeah, 17 C increase is definatly not normal for just playing a game, does it go much higher when you stress test the cpu? I am under water cooling now and my idle is 27C and load after over 30 mins it goes up to 35C.

What case do you have and is there good air flow in it?
