Default Problem with 3310 battery

I recently got a 3310, with a lithium ion battery. From what I believe (correct me if wrong) but not only is the battery supposed to be lighter but supposed to last longer. But in my case the phone seems to run out of battery afte a mere 5-10 minutes talk time. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Is it a problem with the phone or the battery? Can anyone in Adelaide have a look at it?

sounds like a fucked battery. Do you have to run these ones down all the way?

apparently Li-ion batteries aren't supposed to have the 'memory effect' problem. Anyhow these die on me so they're definitely discharged fully when I recharge them, but argh, recharge till full bar, ten minutes later it tells me to reconnect the charger.

Yep, warranty job. Get in quick because battery warranty is a lot shorter than the rest of the phone.

Not only do Li-ion batteries not have the memory effect, I've actually heard it's bad for them to be completely discharged. Can anyone confirm this? If so, don't ever put them into one of those Nicad dischargers, could be very bad for it on top of being unnecessary. Either way, just letting the phone run out of power and switch itself off won't fully discharge the battery so that shouldn't be a problem.

The Li-ion battery has slightly LESS capacity than the same-sized Nimh battery. I think my old 5110 standard Nimh battery was 950mah, and the Li-Ion equivalent was only 900mah. You probably won't notice the difference in time between recharges. I can't double-check on my 3350's battery because it doesn't have any capacities listed on the back, just the voltage.

Still prefer Li-ion anyday though, it's lighter and no memory effect to worry about. Just charge it up whenever you've got a spare moment. I'm very glad the 3350 came with one because it would have been the first thing I would have gotten for it, and it's worth about 1/4 the price of the phone!

It's 2nd hand, from mad overclocker... so no warranty, and I'd rather not chase it up with him if I can help it. *sigh*
