Default Project: Monster Case :)[Pics]

Project: Monster Case

No pics yet guys, wait untill tomorrow. Just starting the thread up now for discussion.

Mods to be: Painting interior Metalic Blue, front ducting 120mm blow hole, top rear 120mm blow hole, 92mm back fan, might get some mesh up the top or a window or something... enough work for now anyway.

Still open for ideas though, but as i said pics will be up tomorrow. Once I finish school - out come the power tools

Till then..

Leigh.

You say painting INTERIOR metallic blue. Is that to say the EXTERIOR will be a different colour? If so, that'd look really good with a large window. Nice idea considering most cases only get the outside painted. Pics ASAP please!

Default Update

Pics:
Painting in my leet paint house

Front blow hole, snapped my last dremel cutting bit... SOO HARD TO GET THROUGH THE CASE COMPARED TO MY OLD SUPER LANBOY - Sparks everywhere

Rear blowhole, ignore the dodgy hole sketch - cant really get a compass into it.. just a guide kinda.

Oh and a rear 92mm fan

Some finished parts, the pics dont justify the actual paint.

The case feet.

Ran out of the bloody can and i still gotta paint the main after the holes and shit are cut :\ $15 bucks a can :s

Oh and if you are wondering why the case feet are a bit darker its because the case is black. But in the end itll look all good

Not too much done yet, need to buy more dremel cutters.. or a better way even to cut :\.

Feedback please

Leigh.

I'm calling this case "the monster" because a fellow ocau member has already spent a fair bit of time on it (painted black, side window, handles) when I bought it off him, he called it a monster so I figured its a cool name, and why not continue what he started (even though it looked cool at the start )

Good work with the 92mm hole. That blue paint'll be interesting when its all set up. Looks like a nice set out case to work with too. Good work

Nice work.
May I suggest a red LED fan on the side windows, don't know just like red.
Being a full tower with 2 windows, you could have a different cold cathode color in each half, I think that would look cool too.

I got some more PCI blanks i you need them.

Anyway, just cut out the front 120mm blow hole with the dremel.. went through 4 cutting discs. havnt smoothed it out yet.

Should have another piccy update tomorrow everybody likes pics!

Well the new kit i got had slightly more heavy duty cutting disc's which made it a bit easyer to work with. So i guess the new kits better nice little box too.

I had the same problem (wasted 1 reinforced cutting disc on half a 120mm blowhole). I was told to take it easy and let the tool do the cuttning and it worked perfectly. I used a non reinforced disc to finish off the 1 and a half blowholes left!
