Default Laptop coolers?

Do they work?

I am wanting to mod my lappy abit, and I want something to keep my lappy as cool as I can while I try out some different things on it. Now, i was wondering about things like the Vantec Lapcool. Does it really work, or does it just remove heat fom your lap?

What are you feeling on Lappy Coolers.

Cooked Geforce 4 MX 440 8x, Cooked 256 DDR 2100 Ram , Cooked Motherboard , One CPU that should be all rights be cooked, but still runs nice.
If only everything was built like my CPU, Highest temp on 2.0 Cel = 107.4

My friend has the Vantec cooler on his Dell I8600 and it doesnt do much at all. It does cool the base of the notebook, but only marginally lowers the temp for the CPU/GPU/HDD. It also serves great as a USB hub.

Yea I was thinking of getting one for the fact that it has 4 usb ports on it, but I can get a thumb hub for alot cheaper, and its alot smaller.

So, I think I might see what I can rig up.
