Default Really Bad 3dmark03 Scores???

I have a new laptop, and I ran 3dmark03 on it, and my score was beound bad. I got just about 3000(3175 first try and got worse then that ever other time).

I have the following,
2.0 Gig CPU,
80 gig 5400 RPM HDD
1 Gig of Ram
X-600 PCI-E ATI Radon (OCed too 450-250)

Now, I was running Max everything at the time of the test, had nothing but whats needed to contol the Laptop running. I dont see why my scores are so bad. Is there something I can do to try and get my proformence up, or does 3dmark just hate laptops.

BTW, I can run HL2 on 1600x1050 with FPS avg @ 22-24, so it runs ok as far as I can see.

thanks for the help

Perhaps you're getting throttling. Have you updated chipset and video drivers? Done a defrag?

I know I have to Defrag, but I did not think that it would make that big a difference.

Also, I just got the laptop less then a month ago, and I have gotten the Omaga Drivers for my X-600, but other the that, I dont think I have upgraded any other drivers.

I am kinda new to this whole laptop thing, and am too used to the days where I did not need a driver for my Bios.

So, other then a Defrag, any advice???
