Default Upgrading CPU in Notebook

Hi, I have a Compaq V2000 series with a Celeron-M 1.3GHz CPU. Is it possible to upgrade this to a Dothan around the 1.7GHz mark?

If it is possible, how easy is it to do the replacement? Is it just as simple as changing a desktop CPU?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately laptops are much harder to open up and play with.
Plus the cooling in the laptop is probably only enough to handle a Celery 1.3, so it might overheat the Dothan if you did swap them over. Unless that laptop has an option to gte the 1.7 as standard (i.e. you could've bought it with the dothan already in it) I wouldn't recommend the swap.

hunt down a service manual for it and have a look if its possible.
if its got an 8xx chipset then as long as the cpu package is socket and not solderd you should be fine in changing them over.
pretty sure the whole v2000 serise is socket, most notebooks are. tho some
tables and small notebooks are solderd.
