Default What laptop should i buy?

Hey All

Looking for a laptop for share trading... so the only specs that are important to me are wireless network and decent cpu/ram for running a couple of applications. GFX, sound etc etc not important. Burner would be handy but not needed...

Any reccomendations?

Cheers

Can't go wrong with a 12" iBook. With the educational discount it's by far the most feature rich, best built and most usable notebook around.

I love mine almost to death

EDIT: This is in the wrong forum btw.

Have a look at Dell.com.au, they're currently offering via a time limited sale, a lappy for under 900 sans burner, just cd rom but...trick it up a little and it's around a grand or a tad more.

Asus have some cheap lappies for about 1300 same with acer, Hp, ibm...etc,etc,etc.

You ought to be able to get something suitable out of that lot at least.
Also, I think a couple of Asus or Acer models feature 128 mb shared vid ram (probably lower it through the bios), combo rom and 256mb ram...so except for the ram<meh!>, there's nothing to slag off about there.

If they don't turn you on, then use them as a yardstick to judge others by.

Just found this one...IBM Thinkpad T30

Thanks guys

So many options!

Forgot to mention has to be windows as well. That IBM machine seems like an ok deal...

Im wondering whether to buy a refurb or just spend the extra 2-300 and go new. Like Styryx said Asus etc have some good deals around the 1300 mark so hrmmm decisions.

I'd go a Dell, their great service has served me well, what's your budget anyway?

A friend of mine got a Dell Inspiron 2200 recently (The budget one), it's a pretty decent, well made notebook.

Dells are pretty good. We use alot of them at the school I work at, and most of them work fantasticly.
If you want a cheap laptop, look at a Metabox

Its not a ultra postible, but for under $1500, I dont think you have much of a range in Ultras. These are pretty light, and you can custom thm to your hearts content.

Thats my 2c.
