Default G70 Vs R520 - Apples Vs Apples test

Just came accross a test over at driverheaven where they disabled 8 pipelines on a 7800GTX and clocked it to 450/1000, and pitted it against a R520 at 455/1000 in a variety of tests. Both are 256mb cards btw.

The results are quite suprising.

Hrm, don't know what to think about this.

Well if the G70 was 90nm @ 625Mhz core and 1500Mhz mem with 16 pipes I suppose it would just drop a MASSIVE steamer on the R520!!
