The price will be $2980 and I got them to give me $100 more off so TOTAL is $2880.
Have you tried to start off with their base model at $18--.00 and upgrade the parts up to the specification you have above?

I tried that and it came out with a price of about $25--.00. Seriously, I can't see where the $1,000 discount come in for that model.

You should try this first, before parting with your hard-earned. You'll definitely get a better price, despite upgrading the chip, the screen, the video card etc.

Ok this is my final system. Is there anything else you guys that have bought or ordered from Dell think I should add or delete from this.

The final price I have been offered is $3000 and I am still going to try and get this lower tomorrow when I talk to the sales manager.

I got a 9300 a few months back

Really is a sweeeet machine
2ghz pm, 6800go, 1920*1200 screen, 100gb 5400rpm, DVD RW, 1gb ram, 9 cell battery, Bluetooth/wifi, and a backpack all for just over $2800

I spent a bit more on other extras e.g. auto/air charger, snap on cover, usb mouse etc

Surprisingly the 9300 havent really dropped much over the past few months. I've configured a few online, and they are pretty much the same.

How did you get it for $25--.00 ? Did you add the same items as I did from the system I am ordering?

I did it the way you said start with base model and it came to $100 cheaper than the other system I made up and I am also going to get a free Dell Printer

I could not get it for $25--.00 with the stuff I wanted.

From an auction? I thought it would be a buyer beware situation.

It's a bit of a grey area though, some ebays sellers are also authorised dealers, and there would be a warranty. Not too sure about where Grays stands in all this though.

Sorry, I must have had a brain explosion when I did a quick check back then.

All I did was upgrade the $1800 base model to the same spec that they advertised costing $2800.

You just save about $50 (grovel...) when you upgrade from their base model.

On a tangent, have you tried to just upgrade a base model to the same spec, MINUS the screen upgrade, THEN call them up asking for a free screen upgrade? That'll save you about $200 then.

Seriously though, for what you've managed to haggle out of them for that price, it looks like a sweet deal. I'm sure you'll love the machine, a lot of people here swears by it.

All the stuff on the auction was direct from Dell. They clear out servers, LCDs, desktops, handhelds etc. Gray's just handle the auction side of it.

Dells bought from Grays don't have warrenty. It's an optional extra at the end of the auction. It's not cheap either.

hey guys, i also ordered a dell i9300, and in the shipping info, it says: 2/11/05 17:03 Cleared Cleared at Destination Customs

does that mean that its cleared customs here in australia? also, how long will it take to get shipped out by courier given that it cleared customs last night?
