Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody out there has any suggest in regards to upgrading. After a lot of discussion I am looking at upgrading my current setup. I have about 324MB SDRAM which I wanna keep. I wanted to upgrade to something like a AMD 1.4 XP processor and overclock the cpu if I can. Here is were I need some suggestions. I am admitting that I do not know what motherboard to choose from. I was considering the Asus A7V266-E where I can get it for $185. If anyone has any hints, tips or suggestions. Please feel free to repsond. Thanks ppls |

If you want to keep the SDRAM you'll need to get an SDRAM supported board... KT133A based or something...
What board do you have now? I'm running an XP 1700+ CPU (@1.65GHz) on an IWill KK266+ atm... With 512MB PC-150 SDRAM... Runs great & can't wait to unlock it... I'm selling an XP 1600+ (1.4GHz) CPU that'll do 1.6GHz if you're interested too btw... Not unlocked though... See link below...

Hmmmmmm what about the ASUS A7A266-E. Is this mobo over clock able?
Yeah I actually have seen your used item for sale. I was thinking about it actually. The problem is that I probably won't be doning this upgrade until i get the money which is 2-4 weeks. |

ECS K7S5A, takes both SDR and DDR, and offers better performance than the KT133A. Not great for overclocking though.
