One of my good mates bought myself and mrs. scon a beautiful crystal decanter and a couple of solid crystal glasses as a wedding present and I've just christened them with a bottle of Glenfiddich 12yo that I picked up for $50.

T'is a bit creamier than I remember with nice sherry notes, I like it. Will probably pick up the monkey shoulder for my next which I saw for $40 (both BWS prices).

did a vertical tasting with Canadian Club the other day. Deary me, that stuff is not very interesting.

We had the standard, 12, 20 and 30 year old.

For me my favourite was actually the standard, it had more than 1 flavour, a bit of character and some flavour.

The 12 was surprisingly harsh, while the 20 and 30 had mellowed out into a dull sea of vanilla. I'd be disappointed if I had purchased them, I know the guys who bought them along were.

So when I got home I needed something more interesting. So did a tasting of highland park 18 vs 21 yo.
The 18 is a truly wonderful whisky, the 21 not so much. It's still quite nice, but really lacks the depth and complexity of the 18, where you taste/smell something different every time you inhale or drink

Hi Tim. Yes we will. We are expecting it to arrive in stores during the next few weeks with all stores receiving stock by the week commencing 16th April. Cheers.

I had different results...I can't comment on the 20yo or 30yo, but have found the 'standard' CC (6yo) to be a bit on the harsh side and the 'Classic' (12yo) to be VERY smooth. Both were very boring, though.
Worse when mixed, the 12yo COMPLETELY disappears in Coke.

Yeah have to agree here (about 12yo), but I will say I enjoyed the CC 6yo straight on it's own more than when it was mixed.

i developed food intolerance's 3 years ago now i can only drink water, vodka and whiskey

i helped a customer out of a bind a few months back and a few days ago he calls me to say he got me a gift
basically 30 guys looking at a hole in the ground because no one ordered the part to fix the issue and i drove 300km to drop the part off

i told him a bout my health issues and being a typical tradie he was aghast i couldnt drink beer anymore lol
he ended up giving me 3 bottles of chivas and a bottle of blue label, the amount i drink im set for the rest of my life lol

i only have it with ice and its amazing how smooth the blue label is over the chivas

Got one of Manhatten Whiskeys off my brother for my birthday.

Really enjoyed it, not normally a whiskey fan but this has turned me
