Question How much does it burn?

I've just upgraded my ye olde' Slot Athlon 700 up to a 1.33GHz T-bird. I got an A7M266, 256Mb CAS2 Corsair DDR SDRAM and a Thermosonic Thermoengine.

Here is the little beasty

Anyway the A7M is reporting the CPU temp @ 36ºC, does anyone know roughly what I have to add onto that temp to get my core temp?

Youre getting a 36ºC reading in the BIOS? Thats pretty reasonable.

Its pretty much speculation what the core will be running at unless you sit a temp probe in there... Im not really familiar with the location of the mobos temp probe for the A7M266...anyone else?

it sits in the middle of the socket, but isnt of the type usually seen in other mobos.. its a small rectangle looking black thing

Im not sure how accurate temps would be with this thing, as it doesnt touch the underside of the cpu, but sits about 2.5-3mm below it.. i'd hazard a guess that your core is running about 10C hotter than whats being reported.

i jsut put a thermal probe on the very very edge of my duron core,
like it's sticking there with osme thermal paste and it's JUST touching the edge of the core with the esposed tip after i chopped all the plastic gumk offa it
i got a duron 700@ 1000 idle, with a super orb ( i really need a nice thermoengine) and the probe reports 46degs, 26 case

if that`s on normal settings then it`s a little bit hot but not to be too worried about.
ohh it`s the duron and not the 1.33gig...
get rid of the sorb.....
get a better cooler dude.
but if it was the 1.33gig with those temps would be quite good, but bit little on the upside.

GOD....
