Default Pioneer Lappys?

Hey all,

There's not a lot on the net, so I thought I'd ask here, what's everyone's opinion of Pioneer laptops? Getting one of these Dreambook 805x in the new year with:

1.7 P-M
1gb DDR2
6200TC
60gb
DVDRW
15.4 wide

Don't look at the price, I get it at cost via my work

Cheers,
David

in my experience, they're manufactured by clevo, and the ones i've used, are absolute rubbish.

poor build quality, terrible battery performance and longevity

I looked at one as a proposal for a multimedia notebook for work, and found an article that compared it to an Acer in Oct/Nov '04. Both were similarly spec'd and scored highly, but overall the pioneer came in on top. While over spec'd to your requirements it may be of interest.

I'll see if i can find the communications at work tomorrow and post the link.

Unfortunately my proposal didn't get approved, so I can't comment much past what I already have. Good luck
