Default My New SN25P

G'day lads,

Just a few pics of yet another build. This time i have used the SN25P.
I was a tad skeptical in regards to these barebone systems.
I asked a lot of questions and did a shite load of reading.

Well all i can say say is AWESOME I am very impressed with the build and the setup of such a case.
I only had a few issues, bloody fidley little sucker more my goof hands lol.

One was having to swap the sata cables as the original are faulty, from what i have read
The second was my 7800GTX,it was a right royal pain in da ass to get into the PCI slot.

I had to leave off the left hand duct that helps direct the air over the CPU.
Other than that it was a good to have a go on one of these XPC'S.
As for me i am converted SFF all the way.My specs are in my Sig

Here is a few pics hope you all enjoy

Cheers Sam

What's the onboard sound like? Mine is shit, I have tried different drivers, versions of XP, and it still remains shit. Has no bass whatsoever and sounds distorted.

Grrrr, I am trying to find out why only some SN25P's seem to have absolute shit onboard sound and others don't.

Yes, but there shouldn't be any variances. I didn't expect it to be awesome, but every motherboard with onboard audio I have ever had sounds better than the SN25P.

I Just got my little SN25P about 2 weeks ago.... Im wrapped.

Gone are the days where you can upgrade a system in a years time. Things change that bloody often I bit the bullet and got one.

Im only running a 3700+ Sandy (1mb cache) at 2230mhz and a x800gt and I love this little sucker. Although my DVD drive and HDD are both PATA, so when the DVD spins up my HDD stops reading till its finished..... My SATA 300 drive should be here next week tho, then I will be able to take my HDD out of where the 3.5" floppy is supposed to go. Other then that - shuttle all the way

Cheers
Matt

Yes, but surely it cannot be as bad as mine, otherwise every single review would be slamming it and no one would buy them.

When you installed the Nforce 4 chipset drivers, did you untick the Nvidia audio driver?

I have tried using the standard nForce4 audio drivers, and the ones from the VIA Arena site and it didn't make a difference.

the onboard, isn't bad, i found it good for games, just i missed the bass that is all, and to say no one would buy them because the onboard sound is crap is just stupid,

OK, well mine must be worse than others. It would be OK if Shuttle were smart and decided to use a standard PCI slot, instead of a useless PCI-E 1x. Then I could use a cheap SB Audigy etc.

If your after a shuttle with good onboard sound go for the SD11G5 thats what i did. Sound blaster live, pentium-m, sata, ddr2 and pci-e with an on board video card as well.

One of the best shuttles i have owned and i own quite a few. Can't fault it.
