for 3500 you could pick an inspiron 9300 with a about $500 spare change, nice machine all round 2. other than that maybe wait 2 months as it hear rumours of a dual core laptop processors being released maybe. thats if the dual core processor tickles your fancy.

Hi Matt,

You can get a really good laptop for $3500 with some to spare. May i suggest a Mellenia 8000. The people who i know who have them have never had a problem! They are fairly well priced compared to the Dell 9300. If your more interested here is the website:

I will also send you a PM with my msn details so we can talk more about it

Definitely another vote for the Dell 9300... (there are very, very few unhappy 9300 owners)... Most of the problems are about the screen... people either like it or hate it....

http://www.notebookforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=153

there's an amazing amount end user support... unofficial 7800GTX upgrade for $259 USD (cheaper than the destop equivalent) and about 3hours battery life (with the 9 cell battery)

Also the 3 year complete care warranty has accidental damage cover as well..
Also Dell has a total satication policy... basically if you don't like it intiall (about 7 days) send it back or a full refund....(takes about 3-4 weeks though for the money to come back)...

Plus dell is slightly negotiable on prices and don't forget the coupons available..

Machine is only around 3.6-3.7 kg...

Very happy with my machine... the 1920x1200 screen is just amazing....
(PS. dont forget to get the bluetooth option, 9 cell baterry and the spare ac adpator, and the TV-out cable)

Yah i have a Dell i9300.. very good laptop, on it right now.. Love it!!

Cost me 3k for 2gig cpu, 1gig ram, 6800gt, 17ich widescreen truelife, etc etc..

As kelvin said go look over at notebookforums, theres a few reviews and tips on there.. helped me on making my decision.

Only took about a week to be delivered.. well worth it
