Default Dell Latitude Keyboard issue?

I just obtained a laptop off a fellow forumer, a C610, which apparently has suffered intermittent keyboard errors.
namely, the numerical keys 1-4 and 7-0 don't function, which wouldn't be much of a problem, except for the fact that the function number pad uses the same keys for numbers 7-9...

Has anyone else had an issue with these Dell lappies (or any other), and can anyone suggest a suitable solution?

We have got quite a few at work and nobody has had these troubles before.

There are dis/assembly instructions on the dell website i suggest you jump on there and just try reseating the keyboard.

Or you ring up dell support they will drop around and replace the keyboard for you.

I've got a service manual for the C610, you want a copy?

Default dell

i work for dell doing break/ fix calls , 90% of the time ull find that the keyboard is actually dead , by all means try reseating it , i think youll find that there is about 5 or 6 screws underneath if u flip the laptop upside down they will be marked with a 'K' you will also need to pop the bezel off the top where the power button is then it should just lift straight out , however i doubt wether it will do anything , you may also try ringing dell tech support on 1800060889 then push 1,1,2,2 to get to the latitude helpdesk , however i think youll find that the c610 models will be out of date on warranty and they wont give you a keyboard good luck
