I hope soon, i was about to order 9300 but will wait for the new ones.
Dual Core Processor, 667 FSB, Sata Hard drives, 256 meg 7800. If they dont come out soon, i'll get my cousin from overseas to get me one.

It's going to hit Aus under the name Inspiron 9400 after January 18th (when Intel officially launches Core Duo in Australia).

I think it's actually happening ON the 18th - launch partners etc etc.

Well, the release date of Core Duo is the 18th, and obviously there'll be launch partners. But I doubt you'll be able to buy a 9400 on that exact date, which is why I phrased it "after January 18th".

Don't be pedantic.

I'm waiting too! If you absolutely had to purchase a laptop today (12 January 2006) then those Inspiron 9300's are an absolute bargain. Only because the 9400's are about to be released.

... I'm going to be patient.
... I'm going to be patient.
... Not going to look at the Dell site until the dual-core lappies are released.
... Not going to look...

Hmm the deals atm aren't really that flash... same spec rig as the one i got in August is less than $300 cheaper. They are really holding their value well

If the launch of the 9300 is anything to go by, you can expect the 9400 to be overpriced by about $1000 for the first 5 weeks, and then after that it will only vary by a couple of hundred dollars over the following months.

Welcome to commercialism 101!!!

Wait until you can wait no more, purchase the best you can afford and THEN STOP LOOKING.

... and don't tell your geek mates what you bought because sure as heck, one of them will purchase something better 3-weeks down the track for $500 less.
