Default Awesome Guide for Macintosh Users

Hey guys, i found a good way to take screenshots on your OSX Based laptop the key is a little piece of software called "Grabup"

1. Visit:

2. Download:

3. Take your screen shot (Apple+Shift+4)

Note: Here is the kicker, the image is uploaded Automatically!

4. Visit the grab up icon in the Menu Bar near your clock

5. Goto the "Recent Images

6. Pick a recent screen capture (just click on one)

7. All your work is done, just copy the link (i use direct)

seeing no one has mentioned it yet.

you can press alt + printscreen for a screenshot of just the current window without the background stuff.

never saw the need for snipping tool, if you can do the above paste and save as png in paint which should be still readable unless you have some eyesight condition.

though snipping too will be easier for those that dont like using shortcuts.

Actually, it has been discussed throughout the thread... dunno what made you think otherwise

Yeah, that is true jpg's are better for photo's of things in real life whereas png's are better for cartoon things like benchmark screenshots.

And I think the first post could be edited to say upload to OCAU pix intead of imageshack and UGbox or maybe all of them.

You can use Irfanview for screenshots as well. It doubles as a nice player, can play flash movies or games, and does batch photo processing, simple to resize a whole ton of photos.

Also worth checking out Lightscreen. Same sort of software, you can set a hotkey to initiate the printscreen, then you just select what you want captured and it outputs it as a jpg all in 1 step.

Talking Freeware Screenshot

Hey i use Screenhunter and it is as easy as pressing F6 or what ever hotkey you select. Also you can select what format it saves in and the name it saves under plus when you take the shot it saves to the clipboard and you can paste straight away.

Screenhunter is great. I always install it on machines I setup. Except the Free version does not do multi-monitor so I have to use PickPick on my own desktop.
