Default Is it possible to build your own notebook?

Would it be possible to build your own notebook if you had a n/b case with an lcd?

I've found a few cpus etc being sold for notebooks on ebay- is it worth doing so?

yes you can do it. I believe asus is going to start selling barebone notebook chassis and parts, cpu, gpu, etc. you get more customization, but less warranty. not my choice in a notebook.

If you buy the extra parts at the time of purchase from that barebones manufacturer, the warranty should be honoured.

I haven't seen a barebones with a decent video card.

i thought that it was very hard cos you need exact sizes and not to mention very small parts to fit and to cool everything off and such

I think you misunderstand how barebones chassis works.

You choose a shell - you have the be happy with the type of video card, motherboard type and screen because they are generally not upgradeable.

You can choose to upgrade CPU, MEM and HDD and optical drive and any removeable device like a mini wireless card.

Usually the above parts are all industry standard.

One of the guys here is a retailer... Flamethefire.
