Default Musings over my dell DC 9400

Do we need to worry about RAM running in dual channel mode? Will 1.5 Gig (1gig + 0.5gig sticks) not be worth the price for the performance?

And another thing is if I want to run a second monitor off the video card, will the 7800 be able to support:
THe laptops screen 1920*1200
+ a 17" LCD at 1200*1024?

You are financially better off getting a 1x512mb stick with the system and buying a 1gb stick aftermarket.

As for the video card, looking through all the specs at nvidia, the 7800 Go GTX looks extremely close in performance to a 6800 Ultra desktop card. Don't know if that helps you at all. Remember that the 9400 just has the 7800 Go though, not the GTX.

As my work is buying I, more interested in making it simple. If it was for myself, Id prolly do that.
