I'm trying not to be rude here.

It's obvious you're after a cheap laptop.

I googled this one just out of pure curiousity.

Acer TravelMate 529ATX PIII 900 / 256 /20G /CD/14.1"TFT

It's a 4 to 5 year old laptop.

How is anyone supposed to offer an opinion unless there's the off chance someone owned one?

Shite I used a lot of popular laptops like the Dell 8500, Latitude something or orther for work back then and I can barely remember what they was like.

Seriously borrow some money from your parents and get the Compaq ones going for $799.

More time studying, less time fucking with old laptops would do you good.

At least you won't end up as a system admin like me.
