there is just something so satisfiying about parrying someone...all the way through thier super, then dealing big damage....because the other player can only sit back and watch

I have a Dreamcast with Soul Calibur, Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK2: Millenium Battle, Dead or Alive 2 and Powerstone 2.
I've been enjoying MvsC2 alot lately, it's a great game, I just really wish I had an arcade stick.. Anyone know where to get one in Aus?

red parry is a parry after a blocked hit, inside a combo that hasnt finished.
ie, mid-way through Chun li's SA2 you can red parry...then parry the rest of the super. its harder to do, almost never used in tournys unless your certain it will hit. I belive redparry also gives a few frames extra of execute, so you can pull off something that normally would be blockable after a normal parry

Speaking of parrying... I saw a vid recently where a guy full-parried Urien's "unblockable" combo and successfully countered/punished after. I was pretty gobsmacked. It was on the PS2 version as a replay he saved, but he admitted he hasn't been able to do it since.
Gonna try and dig that link up...

digging up an old (but awesome) thread
![]() Had a go at Guilty Gear Slash over the weekend, have to say it's not much different from what was there before (a couple of new characters, nerfs and new moves etc.). Still, a damn fun game as it always was. In traditional Guilty Gear fashion, will this see a PC release?

The best fighters were for me:
Killer Instinct 1/2 - I *loved* the ultra combos. They looked so sick, althought I could only pull a few of them off. Much better than Fatalities. Mortal Kombat 2 - Sure its cheap and nasty, relying on gore mainly, but I dont care - I love gore ![]() Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition - I'm sure this had the 10 star speed rating, correct me if I'm wrong. Just classic.

Hello. as far as fighting franchises go for me Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat have done the most for me. I have enjoyed fragments of others such as Killer Instinct on SNES, Soul Calibur on DC and Soul Calibur II on GC. Besides these I really like Naruto 4 on GC for a break due to the simplicity of controls. I think it is the Mortal Kombat Mythology that makes me so attracted to the franchise more so then the games.

I believe it's already out. I'll have a search and get back to you.

Both the Megadrive and SNES versions bundled in a quasi Championship Edition (basically a slower HF with some moves missing and the CE colours - it wasn't quite arcade CE but close enough). But the HF version was the speedy one. And yes, it was a fair bit of fun to get a mate who was half decent and play at full 10 star speed. Great on the reflexes!

Well I know most ppl disagree, but I really love the Street Fighter EX games. 2-d fighting in a 3-d environment - best of both worlds IMHO!
