Also, I find the first "art of fighting" fun. might be limited to 2 people but when you pull of moves you feel good about it, cause they are a pain in the arse to pull off.

Videos like that prove to me that no matter how much I practice, I will never be as good as the Evo top teir. Absolute insanity. While I'm on the subject, the Evo 2K5 DVDs are supposed to be out soon. I was thinking about getting the entire 2003/4 set, but US$100 is a bit rich for me I think. I wouldn't mind getting just the 2D DVDs, especially to see Justin Wong finally get beat.

yeah, Evo moment 37...great stuff...thats what Sf3 is all about.
just having the stones to try to parry all that with a 0 heath bar...impressive. i thought about the Evo2k5 dvd's as well...but really it was only the 3s / cvs2 I was interested in. if you can find the latest Coorporation Cup vids around they have some great fights...lots of beasting

Street Fighter Alpha 3: CPS2 hardware (ported to Sony Playstation later - not a bad port either)
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper: Naomi port with extra characters (Later ported to Dreamcast) Street Fighter Alpha 3 Double Upper: PSP-only port, with proper widescreen aspect (no squashed players) and even more characters (although no-one worth playing, to be honest). But still, it will undoubtedly be the best handheld fighter to date. GBA ports were lame (it wasn't nearly powerful enough to make the game a decent port), and there's been no news of such ports reaching DS. Also of note, a DarkStalkers game as well as Capcom Classics (Street Fighter II) will be coming to PSP, which will be some more top 2D fighters for handheld folks. If the list continues to grow, I might change my mind about the PSP. Capcom have announced a Street Fighter Alpha collection (all three titles) for PS2. No word yet on extra features (ie: if the upper/double-upper characters will make it), but it's still great news for Capcom fighter fans.

My favourite capcom games are SF alpha 2 and 3, SF 2 turbo, SS2 Turbo. I have 3rd strike on Dreamcast, but don't really like it as much as the alpha series. Who knows it might grow on me one day.
As far as SNK games go, I like Sam Sho 1,2,3,4. haven't played sam sho 5 or 5 special yet. I think Real bout Fatal Fury special and Real Bout 2 are right up there with anything Capcom have ever made. Garou: MOTW is also another fav. I like some of the KOF also. I can't really get into any of the Capcom vs snk or Marvel vs capcom games, to many characters, to many old sprites mixed in with new ones, garish looking backgrounds and terrible music, overall its just jarring to the senses. I still remember playing games like street fighter 2 and sam sho 1 at the local fish and chips shop in the 90's, those were the fucking days, good times I miss them

**Disclaimer - personal opinions ahead. Content may offend die-hard MK fans**
I never got into MK. The game mechanics just weren't right for strategic play. To me MK always felt like an amature or "fan build" game with some pretty graphics. Yeah it was fine for a laugh (or playing on a belly full of beers with equally intoxicated mates) but it just never really proved to be anything substantial. I think the biggest thing was the game was heavily weighted toward offense. Compare it to the Street Fighters where defense and timed counter-attacks are a HUGE part of the game (even moreso with the new parry system). The end result was that after a few hours of MK play you really had nothing new to learn, whereas with Street Fighter I'm still playing the games years later and improving various techniques. <troll> Plus, pressing a button for block is just plain silly. </troll>

I am a Street Fighter fan. No other series has appealed to me like SF. In Mortal Kombat you could bash buttons and combos out all day and not feel the interaction of the players.
My favourite is Street Fighter 2: Turbo. I play mostly on PC using ZSNES and 8 button digital controllers. I am a Chun-Li/Blanka fighter and my sister's BF is a Ryu/Ken fighter. I used to kick his butt by about 30 matches to 1. These days its pretty even. I used to play SF2:T in college against a mate from Hong Kong. He hadn't heard of Mortal Kombat until he came to Australia. From what I have seen of SF3 it is excellent to play. I am not good at it though. BartholemewH.

Anyone here play RumbleFish? I haven't heard much about it around the usual traps. I'm seeing it for pretty cheap on Play-Asia, so I'm thinking about grabbing a copy (along with Tekken5 on special for $US 13 including shipping!!!)
