Hey guys,

am getting an 80gig classic ipod for Christmas

I've been ripping my CDs to mp3 for the past 3 days. I've got about 800 albums, but only listen to about 100 regularly. Is there a way to have all 800 albums on my ipod but select 100 'favourite' albums that get displayed first, or in another menu or something? I don't want to have to trawl through all the albums looking for inspiration of what to listen to, but at the same time, I want them all there if I ever want them.

Also, does anyone know of any good links to 'tips & tricks' type websites for ipods? you know, showing you how do to cool stuff, like what I've asked above etc?

www.macrumors.com is a good website, take a look on there. With your albums question just create a playlist in Itunes if that is wat you are using.

My beloved 40gig 3rd gen is dead. I'm getting the frowny face. My PC will recognise it after a very long time, but if I try to access it, it hangs. I'm guessing I either have to open it and shove the cable back in or give it to Apple. How much do they charge/how long do they take if the cable is busted or they need to replace the hard drive? I remember reading somewhere that for how much it costs, you may aswell get a new one, but hopefully that's changed.

Can you create a playlist with, say, 50 albums in it, and then go into that playlist and select just one album to play? Or can you only play songs (as opposed to albums) in playlists?

Hey guys I'm thinking about getting a Ipod Classic 80gb soon,

is it worth it? They look to be some great devices, large capacity and for portability they look pretty unmatched. Just wanted to hear some opinions,

also I'm gonna grab the Ipod camera connector too, gotta EOS 400d and it'd be incredibly handy to have when I'm out and about. Does anybody use these?

Thanks,
Aaron

edit: whoops another question, the classic apparently plays video is this correct? cheers

Pricedrop on the shuffles today.

1GB shuffle is now $65, Apple have also announced a 2GB Shuffle, guessing it will be $99.

Grabbed a 1GB Product (RED) shuffle for a spare MP3 player for riding the bike, going for a walk, etc.

One Question about updating the Ipod firmware/software.

Will it delete all my songs I put on there? I'm hoping it wont.

Currently have 1.0.2 on it and upgrading it to the latest one (1.1.1)

just click update and you'll be fine, pressing restore is what will kill your songs

I bought Ipod Nano straight after it came out, and it broke just after the warranty expired. The ear phone that came with it broke one month before the Nano stopped working, I guess that was the sign

Is it just me, or are the head phones which are supplied with the iPod Touch really, really shit?

My right ear phone seems to have "blown", its crackling and distorted, i never ever listen to the music over half volume either.

Can anyone recommend some good quality ear bud things?
