Got my nice 6400 - very happy with it.
![]() Got the 1gb Ram upgrade, 80gb 7200rpm hard drive and a few other bits and pieces. Went with the 'normal' screen however, as the truelife ones at work I find absolutly horrible to use (and everyone in the office specifically asks NOT to have their new laptops with it!). Anyway, with the dell order dates, I ordered mine on a monday, it arrived the following monday, so 7 days. All this, while the estimated delivery date kept going up, and up, to about a month in advance!

what were the issues of the truelife screens? Is it because of the glare or gloss?

Until Dell comes out with a decent notebook with 14" screen and better than the Graphics Media Accelerator 950 i will consider buying one.
Until then the search continues. |

Inspirion 1100
1Gb RAM 2.2Ghz Celeron. 14.2" display Had Flibbet for 3 years now, and it's been a champ - it's been around the world, and been perfect as a work warrior (most recently in an 8 day stint in Perth.)I recently bough a second battery for it, and bought a second power supply when I bought the notebook - that's proven handy (as it means you have a PSU at work, and home, so you don't have to lug it around with you - only $57 too). Power users don't need power computers - just well tuned ones ![]() Ooroo Callan

How long have people had to wait after their order is showing as hitting the country & cleared customs? I'm figuring it shouldn't be too long.

well, went with everything on my 9400 because I need it... having 1920x1200 as a desktop comes in very handy when you're heavily using VMWare/VirtualPC as well as playing BF2 (gotta love widescreen)

I got my 9300 late last year. Currently running:
17" 1920x1200 PM 760 @ 2ghz - thinking of clocking a 1.7 to 2.26 or 1.8 to 2.4 if i can find one. 2gb G.Skill - got this shipped from the states when I got my 7800gtx. 80gb 7200rpm 7800go GTX at stock (400/1.06ghz). Havent needed to overclock yet. DVD burner XPS Gen 2 bios for 7800go gtx 130w Power adapter for the 7800go gtx 3 year warranty |

Nope, didn't turn up today. The ETA moved from 1st May that it was showing over the weekend & moved during today to 28th, then 27th, then 24th April. Just checked a minute ago & see there's been an update now to "dispatched to local courier" so I guess I'll see it in the next couple of days I presume. I'll certainly post when I get it.
![]() It's arrived this morning. Nice! Just finished doing a reinstall of XP & currently running autopatcher to finish things off. Seems pretty quick though!

My 9400 arrived yesterday as well. Damn that's not bad to get it in 10 days when Dell said it would take up to 28 days! Shame I am not home for 2 weeks to play with it
