Default x800 to x800 xt pe mod

hi,

i just followed the instructions on one of the threads here..to mod my x800 pro to x800 xt pe.

I did the flash with the ATI x800xt retail bios.

When i booted into windows it still says i have a x800 pro.

What went wrong? what should i do before trying to reflash..

Thanks.

Whats your card, in particular is it VIVO or not? agp or pcie?
If its not vivo agp i'd suggest you check that it can actually be modded to 16pipes. The ocau video wiki tells you how

Do you have Everest?

If so, open it up.

Click Display and then GPU, check how many pixel pipelines it says you have. It should show 16 if you modded it correctly.

Also, for the record I'm quite sure it is still supposed to be recognised as an X800PRO (Would be written in the BIOS that way).

Gigabyte bios first then the ati retail bios if you want xt speeds.

Or even better use a modified flashrom so you can flash straight to x800xtpe. grab it from:

Ok well, it seems that it isn't a VIVO...so no wonder it doesn't work. He told me it was...but obviously it isn't....because it doesn't have that yellow cd-input on the card itself. Thanks for the help though guys.

Bad luck emax !

If it makes you feel any better, I RMA'ed my X800 Pro VIVO, which was capable of XT PE speeds and was unlocked for 16 pipes, for my current X800 Pro VIVO that won't unlock at all

I know your pain !!!

If your desperate enough you could try bridging the lasercut with conductive paint or solder. See ocau video wiki to check whether this is possible (depends on whether its just lasercut, or pipes disabled on-die as well).
