hi looking for a laptop that supports dual monitors preferably with DVI + VGA ports, or two DVI ports. Needs to support 2 x 1920x1200 displays
Thanks. |

You'll be needing an insane graphics card to do that... but your best bet is to get a laptop that supports a docking station - as they may have both ports. My IBM ThinkPad Port Replicator has both DVI and VGA, and I use both.
But heres an example of my setup: IBM T42 (2373-7FM) ATI Radeon 7500 32MB 2x IBM L191p 19" LCDs I run 1280x1024 (max of the LCDs) So if youre planning to run quite large resolutions then youre probably going to need atleast 128MB, but the key I think is a port replicator. With that in mind youre going to be limited by manufacturer, as cheaper brands such as Dell, Acer, BenQ etc typically dont support replicators. You may need to go for an IBM or Toshiba etc. If you can wait about 5 months I'll have a new IBM T43P forsale with a port replicator IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 780 2.26GHz 15.0" 1600x1200 128MB ATI Mobility FireGL V3200 But the problem with the Matrox device is that its maximum output per monitor is 1280x1024 - otherwise it looks like a killer device!
