Default Does this look right? (Pic)

Recieved my toshiba laptop.. hard drive not included.
Now when i try to install my hard drive, i can't find a caddy or bracket. This means that the hdd (While it fits the pins (they look wierd, look at photo)) would be able to slide around and disconnect under its own weight.

Does this require a caddy?

Portege 4000?

You need a cradle and IDE adapter.

I may have one in my collection of useless parts.

I assume you bought this one 2nd hand?

Kind of rude to not include the carrier when they gutted the hdd.

Portege 4010. Basically the same.
I'd LOVE the parts if youve got them. The shop wants me to post it out to them again, and that'll take heaps of time (cbf).
Your price?

They are the right parts.

I work on Toshibas for a living. I know the 4000 series back to front.

I have a spare battery however it probably doesn't hold a charge for much over an hour or so.

It's ok as a ups if you leave it hooked to the wall.

The 4000 will take standard pc133 just fine.

I have the cage but I do not have the plastic thing.

Ask they to send you the plastic bit.

The cage? U mean the hdd bracket right?
Interested in the battery. And if you have a CDROM or other optical drive that'd be sweet.
How am i meant to install windows if it comes without a cd drive..

I can only find the hdd bracket.
No opticals.
I suggest you install off a USB optical or USB hdd.

Thankyou for all the info. I have emailed you some other things.
Does anyone else have anything to add about the laptop and mounting brakets?
