Wish they made it in a 12in widescreen notebook... Hoping the W7V will live up to expectations....

Other than the Sony, none of the 12in have a good video card....

$2800 for the T2300/512MB/60GB Magnesium version isnt that bad. The Carbon fiber version's a bit much though, I think Sony's aiming at the bling market.

Plus, although Sony retails them for $599, you can get a generic high capacity battery off gBase/eBay for $100. Apparently they're made in the same factory.

I'd expect that it'd be similar to the W3V. One off my mates says he manages ~4.5h off the main battery with wifi on, light usage and screen at half brightness, and another 3 hours with the modular battery.

A bit off topic now, but there still are no other 12"/13.3" light notebooks with a good video card (7400 isn't great, but waaay better than the Intel stuff)

The Z18GP is nice because it is lighter than Z15GP and it also uses LED backlighting. It supposedly give better uniform backlighting and also saves on power. The ultra thin screen/lid also looks really funky. Is it worth $3500, no, not really, but if you want something like that, what else is there at the moment?

the problem with 12" notebooks and high end graphics card is heat, which is why you dont see them around

True, but considering you have T2600's in the SZ series and stay pretty cool, I'm sure they can shoehorn a 7600 or an X1600 in it without any issues. After all, you can turn it off and use the Intel chipset when not playing games

The W3J still is pretty good!!

I didn't know that, I thought both models had the LED backlight. If that's the case, it's worth going for the Z18 for the extra battery life alone.
