Default VGA converter?

I bought a iBook about a month ago (something I'm beginning to regret) and I was wondering if it's possible to connect it to a monitor? It has no DVI / VGA port, just USB + Firewire. Can I get a converter or something? Someone was telling me there's a USB to VGA converter, which I find highly suspicious. True or false?

There are USB->VGA converters. However they are quite expensive and require USB2. Most new iBooks that would have USB2 have AV-Out I believe.

All iBooks, except for the first run of "clamshell" multi-coloured iBooks, should have VGA out.

You aren't mistaking Apple's mini DVI port for something else are you?
