its a shame that i get grouped in with the rest of that group, but i suppose its fair enough.

ive been a bit busy with my new job recently (working at cash converters now, so im your perfect guy for scalping cheap old games and reviewing them ) but i will be sure to send an email with my reviews on epinions.com and some others (i now have the entire super mario advance series, but it seems you guys have already reviewed everything mario bros! )

Talk about weird! We got our articles ready for launch, and almost everyone chose something Mario/Nintendo related for the first few articles! Plus the news stuff on Wii has added more Ninty info to the site!

I read on some lesser forums that we're considered "Nintendo biased" now. I'd just like to go on the record and say this isnt' so. There's plenty of non-Nintendo stuff coming up, that's for sure. The current high level of Nintendo stuff was pure fluke, I can assure you.

I've got a few draft Megadrive and Master System reviews coming, and one corker of a piece of Sega hardware to review that so far NOBODY has documented in review form (speaking internetly). So that'll be a ripper.

I've also been handed a number of Lynx reviews by a rather mad Atari-Lynx-fan mate, so we'll hopefully see a few of those coming in weeks ahead.

So much content, so little time to write about it!

I've also got some sega centric stuff coming up too Some more editorials, some more guides, and just a stack of crap I need to get round to writing.

Need feedback though!

What do you guys like? Not like? What can we change? What can we add? Remove?

It looks great, however I do find some text hard to read due to the colour being a soft grey or something on a white background. Could just be my eyes though.

Content is great, nice updates here and there to keep people interested.

As much as i'd love a forum, I dont think you guys are too keen on it....?

Two main things that people have asked for are:

- Trading Site
- Forum

The first one is in the design phase, but wont be within a working model for about 3 months at least.

The forum will come when the site has a bit more exposure, members, and the "comments" part begins to overwhelm the articles themselves.

Building forums for forums sake tend to fail drastically. OCAU worked because they had such a large cult following back before they were made, that a forum was just a natural follow-on. If we tack on a forum now, I have a feeling it's going to be dead in weeks.

When user demand presents itself, a forum will definately be made.

I have to agree. At this stage comments on articles are few and far between. A forum is yet another thing to maintain, and not the goal of the site.

Besides which, I already spend a lot of time on OCAU, Aussie Arcade, shmups.com, Shoryuken, OzHadou, etc, etc - all of which have ample discussion on retro gaming for now.

That, and I have no desire to "compete" with any existing site. GR was built because we felt no-one else provided the same content.

Do you have to be 'hired' as one of the two official 'reviewers' to get a review published?

IE if someone submits a high quality review to you, in the style and format of your others, is it possible you'd deem it worthy of posting?

I've been thinking about this for a while now. If someone wanted to submit articles in an ad-hoc fashion and not be an official member of the team, if the content was good enough I'd have no dramas publishing it.

Full credit of course would be given (name, email, link, etc). Of course, I'd have to confer with James on this one first.

As for style/format - I'm not too picky in that regard. I don't consider myself to be the master of all that is the written style. If someone breaks my style/format for the better, that's fine by me.

I don't want to make this some sort of elitist thing. Any community effort in terms of content is great, I think. There are just so many retro games and consoles out there that nobody could review all of them with such a small team.

I've had a few people ask the same question and I'm going to think of a way we can do it.

One of my close friends is writing 2 reviews for the site, and I'm going to make a little template to credit him on the original post, and the page, for their review.

If it works, then I'll open the floodgates. My main concern is that of keeping a general standard for reviews, and making sure that people get the full credit for their work.
