Yeah, they're all coming. Things will be added back in different orders, and I have new content as well that needs to be put up too. So you'll see some old stuff resurface at odd times in amoungst new stuff.

GR.com is having its own little, well, revival.

If anyone is interested in writing content, not just about old games, but anything to do with games (software, hardware, news, editorials, the lot) send me an email and we'll go from there.

I still want this site to be about gamers, for gamers. I still want it to have its retro twist. But I'm willing to expand and create an even level of content.

So if you feel like you have publishing quality english skills, send me a note and we'll see what you can offer.

I'm hoping, after a new look and feel, I can have GR back and regular within the next few months.

Good luck with the revival man. As an eternal optimist, I was checking this site daily for a good few months hoping it would be updated with more regularity. Only recently have I stopped checking it out :<.

Sorry - before the site crash I had a page that detailed all this, so I'll just summarise things.

Reviews need to cover the following:

Gameplay
Story
Music
Graphics

Style doesn't matter, and word length doesn't really either. If you can get screencaps thats a bonus.

News has to be very current, not necessarily an exclusive, but relevant and interesting. If you look at some of the news thats on the site ATM is a good guide to quality and length.

Editorials need to be focused, and can be as long as possible. At least 400words. The more unique the subject the better

Generally if you write for us we'd like something every week/2 weeks.

I knew you loved our work Knassy A lot of people were very happy with our site before the crash, and I think its way past time for a rebirth.

Using emulators or vidcap software.

Easy way to do it would be to use a TV card.

I've posted a feature article, one of hopefully many, of the new style coming up over the next few months

Enjoy

Dead as roadkill.

Reasons:

- Staff ran out of free time and subsequently left (yep, all of them)
- Recruiting drive failed miserably
- Quality of outside submitted articles was low
- News became too random and mostly ripped off other blogs
- We generally lost our original focus

And so on. It's a shame, but it's very difficult to co-ordinate 5 people who aren't getting paid to commit to a project where they need to write 2-3 original articles a week. Especially when as passionate as they are, other things (rightly so) come first.

That, and making sure the quality of the work is sufficient for publishing, and stays on target to what sort of market we want. I had quite a few articles sent to me, but they were either too short, poorly written or off topic.

Everything fell over rather quickly, so the site took an early death. It's a damn shame, since I still stand by the concept and hopefully one day I can bring it back. I had another project on the line (gamesieve.com) but it seems that's going to be canned too.

Oh well.

I found that too. Putting several hours into each article was just too much time to allocate every week. I put a lot of time into OCAU, but I can do that in 5 minute bursts.

You can't write a decent article that way, and between work, the girlfriend, and everything else involved in modern living, I just couldn't make the time. It's not just GR that suffered, my gaming in general has been in short bursts, and i'd have been lucky to spend 6 hours on any games at all in the last 3 months.

Besides, once SR got the Mario article posted on the frontpage of Digg, we'd already peaked.
