Default Dodgy Laptop LCD Panel

I have a one month old Aspire 5672WLMI and just today the panel went konk.

There is a 3cm wide stripe that goes down vertically and in that area the screen is dimmer then the rest of the panel.
I double chcked that it wasn't a windows related problem by checking BIOS and it seems that the problem happens in that also.

This is an edited image of what it looks like.

talk to acer support, I'm sure that it would reach their warranty standard or buy a Dell or a Mac

It fixed itself on the train home from uni then when I get home it's screwed again. I made sure it wasn't the graphic card by plugging a screen into the laptop. This is really gay.

I've messaged Acer and hopefully get a reply back fast.

' one month old ' = warranty

demand a new lap-top... if they say anything insist on a new lap-top, easy fix

I've contacted Acer and I'll contact the place I bought it from today to see if I can exchange it as I need it for uni. Just see if I can switch the HDD around.

That should be covered under warranty. I'm a tad skeptical they'd give you a new laptop just for that though. No harm in trying, but.

Is it a real intermittent problem, or did it go away just that once? I'd be half inclined to supply them with pictures of the fault as well (I had to do this when my LG monitor played up, it went back 2 times previous before I did that, and they finally saw my problem)

It was just that once that it went away.
Called Acer today to speed up the process and they redirected me to a service centre in Ringwood, so it was nice and close.
Dropped it off there and they said they'll look at it tomorrow and order the parts needed for the repair.

Hopefully it turns out to be only a loose cable and I get it back tomorrow. Can't wait till next wednesday-thursday to get it back
