Default think I killed my xbox :(

it was stupid of me to do - I had it sitting on a slightly curved PC case, a long CAT5 cable running into another room, someone trips over the cable, yanks the xbox (while running) and it topples off the PC. result? it powers on but no video signal and the power light flashes. anyone have experience with this kind of symptom?

check xbox scene...

However that generally is a Video cable/port issue (flashing lights on the front). Could be the drive is buggered but more likely it is the AV.

Did you have the AV cable plugged in when it dropped? has the port or the cable been damaged?

You can open the box up and check the board out...

or for a measly $100 or so bux you should be able to pick one up from ebay...

hmmm bit better now for some reason! it powers on and has a video signal but goes to the Service Required screen. However if I do the hold-button-in thing to get the EvoX dash to come up that works fine! I tried a few movies and they still play fine too, so it's only the original dash that doesnt work, so I'm guessing there was some drive corruption. Could be some physical damage to the hdd

Yeah the A/V was plugged in. Luckily the CAT5 lug was missing the latch so the tugging force from the cable being tripped over wasnt as bad as it could have been
