Default Some photo's from the weekend:

Not really happy with them - I've just upgraded to CS2 from 7.0 and still haven't colour profiled the software - it lost my settings from 7.0, which was calibrated pretty well

The photo's are a great vivid colour in photoshop, save them and open them in a viewer and they look washed out and flat. These are mostly preliminary efforts until I get around to getting the colour settings right, but they are good enough for now.

I'm guessing you used a zoom to get the shots of the birds?
what about the dragonfly?

AdobeRGB tends to wash out colour in web browsers. You need to convert to sRGB before saving for images going to the web. Ignore this is that isn't the problem you're having

Some nice captures in there, I'm not a fan of mynah birds but #1 is very well timed. I like the ladybird too, but I'd like to get closer (either with a crop, or with a lens that focuses closer next time).

First 3 were using a EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM I've been borrowing from a friend. Only have it for another week before have to return it. It's a pretty cheap lens, but it's been performing better than I expected.

The only lens I own is a 17-85, which I took the other shots with. I really want one of those 60mm f/2.8 Macro though

I'm very happy with the 17-85. It's going to be a hard choice between a 70-200 or the 60 macro though for my next purchase.

Nice shots mate. That 17-85mm IS looks like a real performer!

Colour looks fine on them IMHO
