I've been thinking about getting a gb micro lately (god that famicom edition is so freaking sexy!)
Anyway, if I were to get a flash cart, what say you to this? http://www.coolpc.com.au/catalog/pro...roducts_id=881 compared to the more popular ones like xg flash, f2a, and ex flash? on a side note, do they have the nes controller faceplates as well? |

no reason why it wouldnt work, but its gonna stick out the bottom of the micro and make it all look a bit unwieldy.
not to mention the GBM is too small, the buttons are too uncomfortable, the screen is way too small, and its all a bit pointless really.

hmm i really hope the sticking out part was a demonstration guide thing to show you where it's supposed to go... it better not stick out irl!
and is the micro that much of a pain to use? Guess I should actually use one in the flesh |

no, the supercard actually sticks out of the GBA slot slightly.
and yes, definitely go into an EB and ask to have a play with one - i have tiny hands and couldnt stand it. they seem pretty good value at $100, but you can buy a refurbished DS for that price from EB so you really must ask the question.

Don't get a Supercard for a Micro.
Compatibility is poor. |

If you don't mind slowdowns go with the Supercard. If you want no slowdowns etc go with a Flash2Advanced or something. Flash2Advance and other flash based cards are more expensive and also are limited in size...where as the Supercard is only limited to your SD card or CF card, but has slowdowns. Both have their merits and weaknesses. Also don't get Supercard from CoolPC, it's a major ripoff. Use this place, Highly recommended: http://www.bamboogaming.com/ I bought all my Supercard gear there. Last edited by rocklee2323; 10th May 2006 at 8:04 AM. |

Quite a few games just don't work and then there is the slow down issue which occurs in many games. If you are getting a flashcart for use on a GBA (a Micro for example) and that is going to be it's only use spend a bit extra cash and get something like an M3 SD or an Ezflash. The M3 would be the best for future compatibility with the DS. I would only recommend a Supercard if you plan on using it primarily on a DS. |

I see.
I've been looking around for comparisons and reviews on different types of flash carts for the gba, and I found this for the supercart supercard review @ gba flash guide This site also has faqs and other reviews for the other carts in the market, but somehow (dubiously?) praises the supercart. I'm a bit concerned now lol edit: also, taking a look at pasey25's post on the winsunx website, there seems to be an alternative to the supercard: ez4 lite mini sd version similar to the supercard, there's an expandable sd slot... I wonder how that goes against the supercard

I would personally grab the M3 Mini-SD which is around the same price as the Ezflash4, maybe $10 more. But it's a proven product as far as GBA/DS compatibility goes.
That said the Ezflash 4 would still be much better than the Supercard and AFAIK it doesn't suffer from any slowdown. |

![]() I recommend trying the Micro in store, as it may not be for everyone. BUT -> I am a very happy Micro owner. I had the original Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, original GBA, then SP, then DS, then Micro, so I have some handheld experience. Anyways I loved my SP but the screen brightness, clarity, and resolution (due to smaller screen size), not to mention fantastic D-Pad (much better than the super-think SP pad), plus its great portability meant that the Micro was a steal at $100. Definately not 'pointless'. Sure, you could play them on a DS (if you have one) but since I've got used to the 'improved' graphics of the Micro, I cant go back! I play all my GBA games on it and recommend them FYI I am 6'5 and have large hands too - just dont seem to mind the Micro. Some of my shorter friends think its too small though, so each to his own I guess.
