Default Path Finder - replacement for Finder

Anyone used this app before? http://www.cocoatech.com/

I started trialing it today and so far so good. I'm going to give it a go until the shareware/demo runs out and then I'll consider buying it, but so far I'm fairly impressed.
It's not perfect though and may not be worth the $USD35.

Anything's better then OS X's buggy finder though, the amount of times I bash my powerbook when it hangs due to clicking on a movie file or other file...

Anyone else here use this thing before?

You should get your Powerbook looked at, I have never experienced the hangs you mentioned! Perhaps a databackup and full reinstall is required.

Really? Well I have a new mac mini that is just as bad with finder. I think cause I deal with all types of files and probably doing too much at the same time that is causing the problems....

Plus mounting samba/ftp shares, boy is that a pain when something goes wrong.

Anyhow I'm liking this PathFinder app, it has a few nice ideas.

I gave this a try a while ago, the UI inconsistencies were pretty annoying, but for power users it definitely showed a lot of promise. I gave up on it quickly, the performance on my 867mhz PB G4 (with 4200rpm hdd) was just horrible. Will give it another go on my MBP soonish

I've been using it in place of Finder for a few weeks now after it was recommended here (I think) by someone else.

No complaints really, it runs nicely now since I got a RAM upgrade in my old iBook and it's a lot more powerful than Finder. I haven't really had any problems with it, the Application launcher thing is useful too.
