Best ram to get seems to be from our sponsors - auspcdirect.

Have a look in the sponsors forum - they are selling MBP compatible ram (Corsair Value Select) for $130 - stock in next week.

I know the Corsair has reportedly had problems (reading on the Apple & corsair forum). I have talked with Braden form auspcdirect and he assures me that there have been no problems. They are testing each stick that goes out.

Getting a GB stick next week.

Emailed the seller - he has said it 'should' work. Check this of people using this ram - mixed results. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Custra...82E16820211031

Im tossing up between the ADATA off ebay or spend a little bit more and get the corsair from the OCAU sponsor. Hmm. I guess the local support would be worth it if it doesnt work in my macbook.

Have you tried memtest for a night or so?

Would also be interesting to see if issues people are seeing is because of having one stick of Apple memory and one stick of 3rd party memory (e.g. Adata).

Great to see it worked.

computer has been on now for 2 days straight. no issues..however i will run memtest now.

i will also run 3dmark 2005 and compare the results with having 2gb or ram as apposed to only 1gb.

The chips apple are using are made my micron technology. part number 16HTF12864HY-667B3. PC5300 667mhz. Unbuffered.

Its all working sweet. I have heard however that there have been problems with corsair ram in certain models of the MBP.

According to info i found on the net, i beleive running different branded ram with mac ram in dual channel is luck of the draw.
