gentoo linux
dodgy msi socket-a all-in-one, 1GB RAM, AthlonXP 2000+
Highpoint RocketRaid 1820A
8 x seagate 7200.8 250GB SATA drives in RAID5 (running ReiserFS)
2 x xbox 10GB IDE drives in RAID1 for OS
a big LianLi case.. cant remember what

originally installed using Gentoo 2005.4? i think. but i had to modify the install to use 2.4 kernel instead because 2.6 for some reason was incompatible with the drivers for my RAID card and kept nuking itself. this was a complete nightmare and required much assistance with the excellent folks on gentoo irc help.

15:52:32 up 63 days, 5:57, 3 users, load average: 0.04, 0.04, 0.00

would be way more but we keep having power spikes and i keep forgetting to buy a UPS

Running 2000 Server here.
May be a bit older but it does everything I require of it. (Web server, Print server, Mail server)
The machine is rock solid and I have yet to have a crash that wasnt directly caused by me.

Tyan (Web/mail/various other services server) -> Slackware 9.1 dist-upgraded to 10.1
Filer (File/DB server) -> Slackware 10.2
Router (DHCP/VPN/Wireless authentication server) -> FreeBSD (m0n0wall)

I believe I originally chose Slackware because of the cool name, but over the years it has grown on me, and is now my distribution of choice for anything server related.

Clarkconnect Linux, been running it for over 5 years on two different machines. The old one had an uptime of 400+ days at one time.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!

What choices should I have for the Poll? I don't want to be too vague with the options hehe (ie - linux or windows)

Cheers,

Jason

Windows XP/98/95
Windows 2000
Windows 2003

BSD
Linux Clarkconnect/SME Server
Linux Smoothwall/Monowall/etc
Linux Debian
Linux Slackware
Linux Other

Maybe something like this? You could report your first post and ask to have a poll added to your thread.

And Linux Smoothwall/Monowall/etc is for those 'just firewall' type distros.
