Default Cheap Simple Laptop

What kind of laptops do you recomend for someone who is going to need WiFi
Word Proccessing and web browsing all under a smallish budget. Hard drive space is no big just be used for internet chat and Basic Games. At the most it needs to be able to run photoshop. Is it worth going second hand for this kind of thing?

Second hand may be a better option. Or define 'small budget' so we have a better idea.

Try Grays online auctions, youll pick up a good 2nd hand one for about $600. Very reliable service. Lots of reliable brands being sold off by banks and other institutions -I bought an IBM T30 for $550, upgraded the RAM and it is great.

-I'll have to ask them for commision

I went to Officeworks the other day to have a gander and they have some really snazzy lappies there. Quite reasonably priced too. Just don't talk to their staff about them. They're a bit blonde!!

How did you manage to get an X1400 in a $1500 Inspiron 6400? Dell's base-price for the X1400-based one is $1899.

Dell often have 500 buk off deals if u are prepared to wait till end of quarter.

I got 1000 off my 8600 with a 2.1Ghz centrino. Sold it now but it still takes on any mid range notebook.

Oh good. I guess I'll be waiting until the end of the next quarter, so I can get a Core2 Duo one then.
