Default What are some good value 4 money deals in the $1200 range ?

Don't know where to even start looking. Dell, Toshiba ???

Preferably need a large screen and enough grunt to run low-mid resource demanding apps. No games. Also a printer bundled with the package would be nice.

Never really into the laptop scene, could someone point me to the best value form money sources and name some good models, special deals etc.. For some reason Dell faxes me this special discount coupon shit every month or so, where u can redeem the coupon online (good for one day). However it's outdated now.

Does MSY.com.au have good deals for laptops ?? Or is it best to go with big brand names when it comes to laptops ?

If you could stretch the budget another $100, you'd be able to get the Inspiron 6400. That'd be worthwhile - a Core Duo CPU, 1GB of RAM, a free carry case, 15.4" screen, 60GB HDD, DVDRW, and MS Works. It's also got GMA950 for video.
