Default Pocket PC software

Just wondering what is some useful pocket pc out there and perhaps freeware? Please don't just link me to a website searched in google all the sites I have found are either all expensive (no freeware) or full of crap that I would have no idea is decent...

Mainly after some tools such as better Explorer, Media player etc. and any others ppl have come accross which is good thanks

For a media player I use TCPMP - lightweight and comes with DivX/Xvid codecs.

http://www.freewareppc.com/ is gold for freeware.

Too many handy little utilities/apps on there to mention. Just have a browse through.

Definitely get a task manager to start with. I'd recommend trying vBar, Magic Button or Small Menu. I used to use this prior to purchasing Wisbar Advanced.

what lazerin said, mass of freeware apps on there...

HIGHLY recommend buying WisbarAdvance 2 and a Deacent PIM application, such as Pocket Informant, and also pay for a deacent backup application such as SPB backup, sprite, or sunnysoft.

as for IE replacement, can't go past Firefox's Minimo ( it might not work on your device), or Operamobile - Minimo is better in my opinion - both free

media player - play all videos/audio then get TCPMP - free
or my favorite, cause it has cool skins & free is MortPlayer - also on freewareppc

I currently haven't got my pda so can't remember all apps of the top of my head, but waiting for new one to arive next week.

another good site is Aximsite.com - mainly Dell users, but also a hughe resource of software & tips & tricks.

I use netfront myself. Haven't tried opera yet. Should give it a go seeing as how I use opera on my desktop.

3 main web sites to look at:

http://www.freewareppc.com/
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/
http://www.freecabs.de/

this site also has quite a bit of freeware if you sift through it, this link will take tou to the 'freeware' search of the site.
