Default Does the SN25P ..automatically overclock?

Reason I ask, is I finished building a new SN25P and couldn't get Prime95 to pass completely.

CpuZ shows ..

Clock Speed 1005.2 MHz
Clock multiplier x5.0
HTT Bus Frequency 201.0 MHz
P-Rating 3800+
L1 Data Cache 64 KBytes, 2-way set associative, 64 Bytes line size
L1 Instruction Cache 64 KBytes, 2-way set associative, 64 Bytes line size
L2 Cache 512 KBytes, 16-way set associative, 64 Bytes line size
L2 Speed 1005.2 MHz (Full)
L2 Location On Chip
L2 Data Prefetch Logic yes
L2 Bus Width 128 bits

I expected my clock speed to be 1000 with these slight bumps my ddr is running at 201.mhz ...

Does any one know what gives?
I suspect its my RAM ..even though it passes memtest+ consistently, I suspect Prime95 does not like the slight intrepeted bump on the mem.

SuperPi is abit flaky as well ... well its better probably 9/10 for the same test.1M. ..32M is more like 1/10
Nothing is overclocked

Well the answer is no ..after looking around in their fancy bios

Even though MemTest passes consistently, it seems things like SuperPi and Prime95 is doing something more invovled which I may check the source out later.

The short story is ..i did figure it out.

After 'loosening' my timings alot it stilled failed in those 'programs' only.
I am one of those in the camp where I say 'who the hell' cares.
But unfortunately I am doing some of those 'calculations' in my line of work (at this time in my life). Which meant I needed to worry about it.

So instead of hitting 400 dual channel I tried 333 manually, what do you know everything worked.

I thought it might but I didn't want to do it ..

So I have a stable workstation to continue working but the unstablity at 400mhz dual channel is puzzling ..it's probably my ram which I opted for generic brand..still its meant to be rated for 3200 ..

It's almost certainly your generic DDR - generic RAM has been known to not mix well with the nForce4 chipset.

That is normal. Modern comps don't run perfect speeds to reduce the amount of electrical interference. You'll probably notice there is a few "Spread Spectrum" options in BIOS that turn this on, off or on with a certain range of fluctuation (1, 2, 5 or 10 MHz or something.).

It will be RAM if anything. Try setting the latencies manually according to the manufacturer settings. You may find them on the web.

Generic ram can be evil in some boards...

Perfect in some machine and yet the same modules are problematic in another...

My A64 machines are particularly fussy..... My P5P800SE basically accepts all modules.. without any problems... (modules that fail memtest in my A64.. come through with flying colours... and are perfectly stable at tight timings and overclocked..)..
