Default Tecra S1..where is Wi Fi

ive been trying to get the wi fi going on this toshiba tecra s1 model..pt831a notebook for 2 hrs. the manual says its got it but all i can install is the blue tooth..does the bluetooth adapter somehow double up as a wi fi thingy..ive googled it and i can confirm that this model was always advertised as having wi fi..but where is it...it has a button at the front to turn on the antenna ( i think) and that lights up but apart from that and frustration i have nothing to show for my afternoons efforts...i need some help...thanks

Best way would be to open the back of the S1 and make sure the physical wireless card is in there if your unsure of the setup. Next check device manager for any uninstalled devices and make sure you get the latest Intel drivers (pretty sure the S1 comes with 2200 intel card).

When I bought my Tecra S1 about three years ago, there were 3 models available and only the highest end model (PT831A-146KG) came with the Intel 2100 wireless card.

Have you tried Fn-F8 ?
But if your not getting a wireless card in the system manager then maybe there is no wireless card.

No they don't. Most did but not all. eg: the PT831A-02J84 did not, only the WiFi Antenna
