Default New Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator

Picked myself up one of these rads from forum sponsors David and Karma's and have finally fitted it since getting my G4 mountings.

Pretty happy with the results I must say, good cooling with very quiet fans (Scythe SFlex medium speed). Idle is at 34 and load is at 62 (see sig for specs) need to tweak vcore yet, which could bring temps down more, but 62 is quite reasonable for Pentium D.

The only gripes I had with fitment were:

-Crap o-rings on the barbs squished out the side of the fitting when the barb was installed to a reasonable tension. Had a leak but fixed this with thread tape and a little less tension.

-Fitting kit was good but could have done with some short screws included for fitting fan grills on non-fan side. Generic case screws did the job though.

Overall, very happy

Looks good, have your clocks gotten better?

Didn't run my previous radiator in this setup so hard to tell, but my last rad was a Radiical 120mm Pro single so I imagine temps and clocks would be better now. System is running at 4.5Ghz now, but needs more vcore tweaking, so will get better.

Fan finger guards sit on the radiator directly with the fans on other side, right?

If nothing else, it'll stop the curious and the clumsy poking and bending the fins.

Thats exactly what I put them on there for, to stop ins getting bent when moving the case around etc.

yes the rad is extremely thin, not sure of dimension, but I'm impressed with how it is performing.

Temps in your review sound pretty good, old setup drawing ambient air vs new using case exhaust air,
just checked mine, and ambient air at front intake grille is 24c, grille on rear 120mm case fan is 3.5 - 4c higher.

double pumped now though vs single dual fan with the much thicker BA rad

when it was single fan, perhaps 8 degrees higher, perhaps due to poor suction of the tricods or the higher temperature "blow through" air

I checked the temps a little while back as I was thinking of mounting another 120mm rad under the rear exhaust fan to go with the 2 x 120 and 1 x 120 rads in the front and bottom of the case drawing room temp air, but with a current coolant > air temp of 6.5c having air nearly 4c hotter than room temp entering the rear rad wasn't going to make a whole lot of difference.

which way are thoses fans on the rad pushing, cuz it looks like your pushing air through the radiator over the better pull through aproach

As far as I was aware, push through is a better configuration. Open for discussion though.
