Default SD memory for PDAs?

I have an i-mate JAMin PDA and am wondering what is the biggest size SD card this will accept? Can I only get a standard SD card? I see these Ultra 2gb Sandisk SD cards...also how comon are 4gb SD cards?

i would say any size would work(dont quote me on it though) as my budget RZ1710 HP PDA has a 2 gig card in it atm.

The Ultra fast cards will work fine, and be faster(apparently)

My XDA II Mini reads my Kingston 2Gb SD card without any problems.

The largest SD card that actually complies with the SD standard is 2gb. There are 4gb cards, but there's no guarantee that anything will read them properly.

I know 4gb cards work fine in my tungsten e2, but I also know they dont work in my usb reader. They're a compatibility minefield

You device seems to be the HTC Prophet, which runs Windows Mobile 5, right?
See this
Forums users over there at "xda developers" seem to suggest 4GB works fine in those devices.

The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.
Question marks are the new full stop?

In my personal experience (5 PDAs over the years from various manufacturers, but all WIndows based), have found that SD and CF card performance to be pretty poor anyway - certainly nothing worth paying extra for a 'fast' card.

The reason I would pay for a fast card is so that u can update it faster on the computer rather then the speed of use on the PDA. For example if you put TV eps on the card each day using a cardreader for the train ride to school/work.

Fair enough, I don't do anything that ActiveSync over USB doesn't do. But I guess if I took public transport, my PDA would become a media player.
