Default New Dell XPS M2010 20.1" screen!

Anyone checked these out yet? Not real great for portability but wow, how much bigger can laptop screens get before they're considered desktops again?! 20.1" is going to be nice for some movie watching!

It actually look's alright, although I would call it a SFF PC, not a notebook.

Acer's had a 20.1" laptop for a while now - but they seem to just be using a desktop LCD connected to a laptop (the screen part is about 3cm thick on its own). It's also nowhere near as interesting as Dell's one (much more a traditional laptop).

It's definitely in the 'desktop replacement' category. Unlike some other desktop replacements, it shouldn't run too hot (only one video card, and it's using the Core Duo instead of a Pentium-D/A64 X2).

That said, I notice that Dell has carefully avoided listing the weight or battery life.

The specs don't look that impressive, IMO. It looks slick and I like the optical drive but at 9kg

Besides, the 20" screen is only 1680x1050. My 17" lappy has a a 1920x1200 screen

It's not advertised widely on the Dell website but you eventually see it (In the "Customize It" section.

5hrs? I guess a sizable chunk of that 9kg's goes towards the battery...
